Team Kokatat is our group of sponsored whitewater and sea kayaking athletes, with backgrounds and stories as mixed as their skill sets. These athletes travel the globe competing and exploring, trusting their safety and comfort to a mix of Kokatat products and apparel. Here is Ruth Gordon’s debut post to the Kokatat blog describing life since the recent World Championships…
I finally feel like I’ve settled in after the chaos of Europe and the competing season. The World Championships were great. The location of the competition, the weather, the waves…everything was excellent. I’ve attached a couple photos, unfortunately when you’re in the thick of it you don’t take as many photos as you should.
Here’s a link to a quick interview after the finals, a link the women’s finals, and a link detailing my rides.
I spent a week in Switzerland after the competition, vacationing and decompressing. I hit the hills for a couple days for road biking, hiked up some mountains, on some glaciers and did some canyoning before coming back to North America. There is an overview and some photos on my website too.
The next couple weeks I’m busy teaching a whitewater course at the University of Nevada Reno and next week (which I’m really looking forward to) I’ve been asked to join a group of athletes and media on a two-day off-road driving course with Rod Hall Racing and Hummer. Sweet.
Smiles,
Ruth
